Last Thursday over 60 local residents joined Stella Creasy MP for a planning meeting for the #7days4stow project.

Local people began sharing and developing their ideas on how to take forward the project that asks residents to consider giving the equivalent of one week of their time during the year to fighting for Walthamstow’s future. Looking at the challenges Walthamstow faces in the year ahead, including persistent unemployment, changes to tax credits and benefits as well as cuts to public services, #7days4stow volunteers are already working with projects across the local area that need help right now.

There will be many ways to be involved- whether you give a whole week of time in one go to a particular project or help out seven times over the course of the year. Whether in person, or online, daytime, evening or weekend. Whether helping with administration or acting with these organisations to support those in need everyone in Walthamstow has a contribution to make that can benefit our community.

The following presentation gives an introduction to the campaign and its aims, as well as a brief introduction to micro-volunteering. You can download this presentation by clicking here, or viewing below. You can use the ‘Action Planning Grid’ to plan individual actions as part of the #7days4stow project – breaking down large tasks into small, manageable actions.
